Urbex in Breda

During the PhotoWalk of IloveBreda on January 7, 2023, we visited the former Bakery/Factory of Bakkersland, better known as Bakker Welten. 

 

On December 30, 2020, the last loaves of bread came out of the oven and on February 28, 2021, the very last egg cakes were baked here. 130 years of bakery history in Breda came to an end and Bakkerij Welten closed its doors. The factory had been operational for over 50 years. At its peak, there were about 200 employees who produced tens of thousands of sandwiches every hour. Today there still exist various areas such as factory halls, warehouses and offices. Under ground level, you can find a gigantic brick basement full of sewage pipes, wiring, flashing lights and old details.
